how do you enter tHE CERTIFICATE OF EXCELLENCE scheme?

Each certificate level comes with a free downloadable training course, which contains all course material.
There are 5 different levels:

When you have completed the training course to your satisfaction,
you can apply to the officer in charge of the Certificate of Excellence, Peter Turner
to take the appropriate examination.

The bronze and silver examinations are comprised of 15 multiple choice questions,
which should take no more than 45 minutes to complete.
Details of Gold, Diamond and Platinum examinations are available on request.

silver Certificate of Excellence

The silver level is the perfect follow on from the bronze level, and includes:

Notation and writing your moves down
Special pawn moves: under-promotion and en-passant
Development and basic openings
Outposts
Some essential checkmates
Checkmate in one and two move puzzles
Forks, Pins and Skewers
Discovered and double checks
